Hot on the heels of the PHP development team's announcement of the release of the long-awaited PHP 5.3 comes the release of Firefox 3.5. The latter has not yet been officially announced by the Mozilla team, but it is available for download on the Firefox homepage.

Presenters Needed!

Are you a PHP developer with a bit of code, a concept, or a full-blown application too cool to keep to yourself? Are you a vendor with a product that make coder's lives easier? Are you a Web developer with knowledge of a technique or library that can benefit the PHP community? Are you a simply stuck with a problem that could benefit by having your peers look at it?

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions (or know of somebody who can), we have the solution. The Front Range PHP Users Group is in dire need of presenters through the remainder of 2009 and into 2010! Presentations from five to 45 minutes are welcome, on any topic that could relate to PHP or Web development in general. Even if you've never given a presentation before, you can be assured that you're unlikely to speak before a friendlier audience. Just contact us.

As the only active PHP User Group within a 500-mile radius of Colorado Springs and Denver, FRPUG can provide you or your company with a unique opportunity to meet with PHP professionals in an informal, technically-focused setting. Your attendance and participation is crucial to our continued existence -- without the PHP community, we've got nothing. PHP isn't going away any time soon, and we'd prefer to say the same about the FRPUG.

Written by Cal Jacobson
Tuesday, June 09 2009 12:22
It is for the FRPUG: this month's meeting will feature a presentation by Mark Rairdon, who will be discussing Zend_Acl. Mark will cover his implementation of back-end database storage of the resources and rules. Even if you don't use Zend Framework, you're likely to learn about the process of ensuring that your application's users can access only those resources they're supposed to. And, as (almost) always, we'll be giving away a few door prizes.
