We will be holding elections during this meeting. If you have an interest in helping out with the group, this would be a good meeting to attend. We have positions for President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. If you have attended at least two meetings in the last year already, you are eligible to vote and/or run for office.

Our October 13 meeting will be held at Remy in the historic Oxford hotel in downtown Denver, at 1637 Wazee St. We'll be meeting from 6:30-9:00. Remy is providing food and drink so please be sure to RSVP by emailing dave@frontrangephp.org. You can find more information including a map on our meetings page.

Neal Gamache will be speaking on "Escape from the Black Box: Quality as an Engineering Discipline".
Outline:

  • What is quality? How much do you need?
  • Traditional models for increasing software quality
  • A contemporary approach: integrated quality engineering
  • The documentation paradox
  • Test driven development goes beyond unit testing
  • Continuous integration is more than a build server
  • Test automation as a team deliverable
  • A snapshot is never the whole picture
  • Follow-through after release builds quality
